The appearance of a mole or nevus is caused by the clustering of melanocytes (color-producing cells in the skin) rather than their distribution across the skin. They might be present from birth or appear later in life. They may darken during pregnancy, during development years, and after being exposed to sunshine. It is usual for size and color to alter gradually over time. However, a dramatic change in size, color, or texture suggests that a mole is becoming a malignancy.
A wart or verruca is a rough skin growth caused by a viral infection in the skin. HPV (Human Papillomavirus) infects the skin and promotes fast cell proliferation on the skin’s surface. It is most usually found on the fingers, beard region, hands, foot, and genital area.
A skin tag / Achrochordon is a harmless skin growth. It manifests itself as soft hanging skin from the neck, armpits, groin, breast folds, and eyes.
